A Family, a Fair

State Fair
1932 Nominee

100 Words
Blue Boy is the best hog in the state and based on how Pa treats him, he might be the family favorite. Ma decides to add brandy to her mincemeat, after all (and it could be a double dose). Buddy is determined to show off his ring prowess, but doesn’t count on getting strung alone by a pretty Bad Girl (did you recognize her?). Meanwhile, the OG Best Actress herself falls for a pacifist reporter (did you recognize him too?). Ma and Pa celebrate, but they might not have enough prizes to fill in the cracks of two broken hearts.

Another great post with your play on words, clever alternate title, and your challenges. Gotta get myself to the State Fair to see if I recognize the girl and the reporter. You did it! You took the oldest year in Hollywood with the most best pic nominees, (TEN) and enticed me enough to go watch ’em all; that’s quite a feat! Hat’s off to you.
