Irish Goodbye

The Informer
1935 Nominee

100 Words
Gypo rats out his friend, Frankie to get the reward. It’s nothing that a few thousand glasses of fine Irish whiskey can’t subdue in a dude like Gypo, whose girl Katie is always letting him know he’s the only one, although he’s the only one that can make sure they fare better than fair. The trouble is of course that Frankie gets shot in a confrontation with the coppers and in the aftermath of his tattling, King Gypo might not have enough to drink himself safe from his own guilty conscience, or away from the suspicions of the local gang.
