Shangri La La Land

Lost Horizon
1937 Nominee

100 Words
A hijacked plane force-lands in a strange utopia called Shangri La. 7 minutes of the footage are gone forever, a filmmaker’s own lost slice of paradise. Brothers Bob and George disagree on the nature of the mysterious place. A creepy father figure urges Bob to be kind, but his brother’s misgivings give way to the day that Bob and George decide to go home. They take Maria with them only to discover that the rumors about the place were true. The price of the strife of an empty life might be always searching for something that soothes a wandering mind.

OMG! Now I’m always going to wonder about those lost 7 minutes. Eerie, as it’s a movie about a plane wreck, and we know all the Bermuda Triangle stories and ‘lost minutes’ of aircraft communications. I’m definitely going to have to watch this film then watch the remake done in 1973. Numbers drama … first flick done in 37, next one in 73. There’s a story here.
