On Tuesdays, We Wear Red

Jezebel
1938 Nominee

100 Words
It’s 1852 in New Orleans, do you know where your fever cannons are? You know what I’m talking about, the cannons that blow the fever away on the wind. In the midst of a febrile environment, Julie and Pres (and I’d be hard-pressed not to spot the father of Jane Fonda) fuss over a dress that’s the wrong color for a good Southern woman (and a movie filmed in black and white). The rift sets adrift the banker and he comes back with a wife in tow. In a pressure cooker of infection like this one, rage becomes another contagion.
