Damn the Torpedoes

The More the Merrier
1943 Nominee

100 Words
A funny man named Mr. Dingle convinces Connie to let him share her room since the whole city of Washington, D.C. is booked. Playing matchmaker, Dingle allows a third person to share the room and manages to convince Connie to let their new friend, Joe (Bill?) stay there too. The group hurdles, full speed ahead, into frank conversations about Connie’s two-year-fiancé, Charles J. Much to the dismay of Charles J., and to the surprise of everyone except perhaps Mr. Dingle, sparks fly between Connie and Joe (not Bill) and the two debate dating as Dingle quotes Farragut from a statue.
