This Movie Bombs

Twelve O’Clock High

Not another war movie! It was a sign of the times, I suppose and admittedly, these times are a hard sell for a human like me. I’m biased against war movies. It’s too much. Gregory Peck is General Savage (I’m sure that pun was intended). He’s interested in engaging the maximum efforts of those in his command to make sure they’re the best group of fighters that the allied forces have to offer. Told like many later films (foreshadowing a 1998 film, perhaps) in semi-flashback, the tale opens and closes with a man paying a visit to the now-abandoned airfield.
