Gene Kelly is dancing!

The story is watered down and the plot holes are gaping, but the dancing is marvelous. So there’s that. A little color in the post-war 50s was desperately needed and generously doled out; the music is fun and the acting is up to par, but the Best?! You’re telling me this beat the one with Marlon Brando and Vivien Leigh? There’s a 20-minute dance sequence at the end, as if that answers what happened to the rich lady! How many times will I ask that question before this quest is through, Readers? Place your Best bets.

The dance between Brando and Leigh was dark indeed, but better.
