BEWARE THE IDES

Julius Caesar
1953 Nominee

100 Words
It is a Shakespeare play. Turned into a movie. Which was not something Shakespeare could have envisioned because it didn’t exist when he wrote the play. I’ve always had an issue with the screen adaptations of the plays because Shakespeare was meant to be watched on a stage (and if you have the opportunity, GO).

That said, despite some rather unfortunate bowl cuts sported by the cast, the acting does bowl one over, and that reminds me: Marlon Brando is in this.

This tale is responsible for me annually screaming, “BEWARE THE IDES” to anyone who will listen to me.

I didn’t know there was a Marlon Brando movie I didn’t want to see. Eye, yie, yie!

I’ll pass on being bowled over by the male coiffure (coiffures?). Okay, I’ll cut it out.
