Terry is a dock worker who got mixed up with the wrong crowd; when his friend dies, he tries to comfort her sister and manage the goings-on down on the docks without losing face or losing his life. “I could have been a contender,” he professes.
An outspoken priest with his heart in the right place tries to lift the spirits of the workers and encourages them to stand up to their oppressive boss. Meanwhile, the comfort from the mysterious local in plaid becomes a little more than comfortable for Joey’s sister.
This is one of the good ones, Readers.
