The Bridge on the River Kwai
1957 Best Picture
100 Words
Before he was Obi-Want Kenobi, he was Nicholson and the best way to describe him is the most British person you’ve ever met in your life. Nicholson, a prisoner of war, takes a lot of pride in making sure everything is done by the book.
Enlisted to build a British bridge, he does so even when his colleague wonders aloud if using the force to build a British bridge for the non-British enemy is British treason. Meanwhile, an American impersonator teams up with more British people to blow up the British bridge, which is definitely risky, and not very British.
