In Defense of Defense Lawyers

Anatomy of a Murder
1959 Nominee

100 Words
“You don’t have to like the guy. You just have to defend him,” insists one half of a duo (the half that isn’t Jimmy Stewart) in the case of a case where the husband killed the wife’s rapist. Maybe. She might have actually been dating the guy and then the husband killed the man in a jealous rage. The only thing that’s clear here is that the Mr. and Mrs. are both suspicious.

Most of the drama unfolds in a courtroom (ahem) and therefore, it’s a tiny bit of a bore. Is that General Patton? We will have to see.

But what if he’s/she’s innocent? Is is okay to defend the one you like if he/she’s guilty?
