Family Ties II: Untying the Family

The Godfather, Part II
1974 Best Picture

100 Words
A shadow looms over new Godfather Michael Corleone and hides behind his eyes; this marks the beginning of Al Pacino’s screaming fits (he yells in almost every movie he is in after this and no, this won’t be the last time I mention it here).

As the origin story of Vito Corleone is revealed, Michael expands his beliefs about eliminating his enemies to include members of his own family, which he also fears losing completely. While Vito was, in his heart, a family man of the highest order, it becomes questionable whether Michael ever cared about his family at all.
