IT BEGINS…!

This endeavor has been exhausting and rewarding and repetitive. I started this journey in the summer of 2023, kept getting sidetracked by Travel Nursing and by life in general and decided to try again in 2024.

Let’s get into it:

I am here to watch every Best Picture nominee ever (591 films and counting as of this writing). As a lover of all things film-related, I have wanted to do this for many years and just kept putting it off or getting distracted or getting overwhelmed by the growing number of movies on this massive list…this time, I want to finish what I started all those years ago when I saw The Graduate and was confused and delighted by the notion that a movie could make me feel more than one feeling at a time.

Rather than give a scathing but thoughtful (and beautifully written) view of each film, I decided to write 100 words of varying degrees of sense about each nominee. The reason for this is 1) That I want to get this thing done already, for crying out loud and 2) No one has the attention span to read lengthy blog posts anymore. More than 100 words?! Turn it into a podcast, you ninny; I have things to do! You know what I’m talking about; you’re not even reading this anymore, are you?
