All’s Fair in Love and War

Wings
1927 Best Picture

100 Words
Put a Clara Bow on top of this sepia-toned war package. Jack and David compete for Sylvia, while the goofy girl next door takes a number. The guys become fast friends after boxing and take to the skies. There’s a vintage Hershey bar and some clever hubbub about bubbles. Herman Schwimpf is up in arms about his status as a true American and – is that Gary Cooper? What a hunk. For goodness sake, don’t forget your lucky bear in the air. It’s too much to bear. At least now Jack knows what to do when he sees a shooting star…

Okay, I admit that I voted for ‘Wings’ even though I haven’t seen the other two movies nominated for BP in 27. But I TRULY liked your POST on this flick the most (and I did see this movie). Catchy first line!
