El Guapo

In Old Arizona
1928 Nominee

100 Words
A bandit walks into a barbershop for a bath…? I don’t know, guys; the old West was weird. A local soldier hopes to win over a beautiful señorita with a hidden agenda and an appetite for collecting fools. Meanwhile, her boyfriend The Cisco Kid thinks one step ahead of everyone but the woman he loves. Warner Baxter took away Best Actor and I’m sure that the pearly whites didn’t hurt his chances (dental work in the old West was superb). At the end of the day, you get what you pay for and the fruits of dishonest labor are rotten.

I did it again; voted for this in 28 even though I haven’t seen any of these films, because I like this post the best! And that’s why I’m reading your blog – so I don’t have to go back and watch all these old movies; thank you!
