Did you hear Hildy Johnson is retiring? He’s had just about enough of his boss, Walter Burns. The guys at the paper can’t stop flapping their yaps about it. Plus, the kid’s getting married to his girl Friday (I mean, Peggy). Walter and Hildy got into all kinds of scraps and strange situations all on account of wanting a story splashed across the front page. Peggy even put up with Hildy’s story-searching when she was in the hospital! Tap three times on the desk if you’re looking for a convict and be sure not to use drinking cups without permission.

    100 words ain’t enough… I KNOW I KNOW, you’re busy and trying to get through the list, but 100 teases me too much. I ALREADY have two books on Edna Ferber to peruse… NOW I gotta find out other ‘stuff’ from today’s feature. Johnson: how old’s the guy… is he “the kid?” What was the basis of “the scraps”? Politics? Morality? Selfishness? Pride? Peg’s hospitalized?! She put up with … ‘and his hunt for a scoop… why? He must be a catch worth suffering over… is Peg in pain? Convicts on the loose…a’ la We’re No Angels:)? Neddie wouldn’t have asked for permission to drink from anyone’s cup. Know why?

    You know a story is great when they’ve remade a movie three times. I honestly didn’t know this one was the original – I thought it was the Billy Wilder one.
