I Bless the Rains Down in Africa

Trader Horn
1930 Nominee

100 Words
Trader Horn and his sidekick, Peru (that’s his name, not the country) fraternize with the tribes down in Africa. Boasting his knowledge of the continent, old Trader Horn is slick with the locals and admittedly, this film is problematic. There’s a long-lost woman who went missing and the two men stumble upon her in Tarzan-like garb and she’s somehow the queen of the tribes and also a damsel in distress in the face of a lion(?!). The lead actor does a fine job but sorry to disappoint everyone, he has no affiliation with the Cubs fan of the same name.

Wow; Galen’s comment is chilling. So … a female Tarzan – who’s a bad guy? Yeah, doesn’t sound like a great premise for a story.
