Little Women
1932 Nominee
100 Words
Long before Saoirse and Timothée, there were Katharine Hepburn and…IDK. It doesn’t matter; this tale is as old as time and it’s not a crime to keep remaking it because it is a great yarn all around. The March sisters occupy their days with piano and sketching and writing and growing into fine young women to support their altruistic mother. Rather than smother each other, the girls become infatuated with new friends, strapping young men, and New York. Although love is sometimes unrequited and the little home is touched by tragedy, they hold fast and push forward, always strongest together.
