Flirtation Walk
1934 Nominee
100 Words
It’s a military story with romance mixed in, but it’s hard to get bitten by the love bug around all the story tricks. The lead rascal from The Front Page is back as an antagonistic Sergeant and he’s making Dick’s military life harder than necessary. It gets worse when that other Dame from 42nd Street shows up and the two are caught cuddling (is it cuddling, though? Post-code?) and Dick runs off to West Point then gives her the cold shoulder when she shows up to congratulate him. Also there’s a musical. It’s more of a sprint than a walk.
