Soldiering On

The Lives of a Bengal Lancer
1935 Nominee

100 Words
Three soldiers cross paths in India, two juniors to one senior (that’s Gary Cooper coming in hot, per usual). The language of the locals is easy, but the trio struggles with the language of diplomacy and don’t all charm each other, though they do manage to charm a snake. Mr. Stone is a stone’s throw away from his father, who also might have more luck with reptiles when it comes to communication. A beautiful woman compromises the trio and the mission, arriving with the enemy and an ulterior motive. The rescuers using problematic makeup might make up for rotten mutton.

The movie-ubiquitous beautiful women… and the never-ending story of the chase by searching men… regardless Mr. McGregor’s demise, HERE COMES Mr. Cooper to win ALL of our hearts as we recoup through the decades.

In spite of the poster, just not feeling this is ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ caliber.
