Dollars and Nonsense

Mr. Deeds Goes to Town
1936 Nominee

100 Words
Long fellow Gary Cooper is Longfellow Deeds and yes, this is the Adam Sandler pic of nearly the same name, sans the bit about going to town. It is quite something to see a rogue like Cooper play such a lovable dork like Deeds. So they say, money isn’t everything and Mr. Deeds’ deeds show that he believes the saying. When the pixelated do-gooder finds his woman in distress, it’s only bad press that keeps the pair from making it official. The vultures swoop in to scoop up the cash and Deeds has to prove himself sane in a flash.

Gary Cooper a “rogue” that’s a first for me… a kid raised on Srgt York, High Noon and Hangin’ Tree… doesn’t bug me at all, as my mom used the term on me A LOT:) that’a boy Coop!

It’s a wonderful life without all the ‘good’ stuff?
