San Francisco
1936 Nominee
100 Words
It’s a bit of a split this one, into two separate parts that make one whole movie. The singing daughter of a preacher makes it out West to San Francisco and as things go, she makes heads turn with her lovely face and men fall with her lovely voice. For the sake of Mary Blake, Blackie’s heart takes no time deciding on her. The two come from very different worlds, however, and Blackie’s sinful ways are not missed by the watchful eyes of his friend, Father Tim Mullen. But after all, what is love if not the original natural disaster?
