A villain, the man plays Baby Face Milton, searching for Francie and hoping his mother can’t wait to see him now that his face is fixed. The local boys have formed a gang that gets violent when they see green in front of them. Tommy’s mama has eyes for Dave the architect, who in turn has eyes for Kay, being wooed by a rich man and so afraid of staying poor that she may make poor choices in love.
