The Life of Emile Zola
1937 Best Picture
100 Words
The famed writer once spent his days patching the roof with Paul Cézanne – yes, that Paul Cézanne. We had to do a project in middle school where we pretended we were famous painters and I had to be Paul Cézanne and part of the project was copying one of his paintings and I don’t know what I am supposed to have learned during the whole thing except I knew that Paul Cézanne was, in fact, a painter. Anyway, this is about Emile Zola writing for justice (one of his numerous titles), but is it the best movie of the year?
