Our Father

Boys Town
1938 Nominee

100 Words
Father Flanagan, played by the two-in-a-row Oscar winner himself, Spencer Tracy, is a real fellow who really opened up a town governed by boys on the cusp of troubled adulthoods. When Whitey comes to town, Father Flanagan’s task of proving that there is no such thing as a bad boy is put to the ultimate test. Whitey causes quite a stir, even running for office, although young Pee Wee sees right through that tough guy exterior. Pee Wee is less talented at telling fibs about the precise location of his toothbrush, but he’s so sweet because of all that candy.
