The Heights are Wuthering

Wuthering Heights
1939 Nominee

Kudos to John Oliver, whose bit about a high school student on Last Week Tonight is responsible for the alternate title. I don’t remember the story being quite so compelling, but that’s a credit to the tremendous talent of the actors. It would be nice not to hear music over all the drama, but it’s also nice to stare at the moors with heather in your hair and not a care in the world. Is Heathcliff the devil? Is Ellen a reliable narrator? Could this film fill in for reading the novel in English classes? I have no moor questions.
