Spy, Spy Again

Foreign Correspondent
1940 Nominee

100 Words
Fisher? I hardly know her. Johnny becomes Huntley to track down a diplomat working with the Nazis. It’s about that time in history. One World War behind us and another just beginning. The British Hitchcock is walking down the street when Huntley encounters his target for the first time. He’s soon caught up in espionage and romance, though it’s hard to say which is more exhausting. Perhaps a gentle guise as a push for American involvement in the second World War, Foreign Correspondent proves that never-a-bride (when it comes to Best Director Oscars), Alfred was always the master of suspense.

My guess is he was never a bridesmaid either. Just a crasher.
