Bird Brain

The Maltese Falcon
1941 Nominee

100 Words
This is another classic in film history. The noir genre kicks off for many with this movie that casts Humphrey Bogart in the spotlight. A dame with a story comes into the office of two private detectives and after one of them is murdered, it’s up to the other to solve the case. A classic creep named Peter Lorre is featured (you’ll know him when you see him) and of course, there’s a flighty legend to tie the whole thing together. If fast-talking crime solvers are your thing, this oldie but goodie is sure to rank high on your list.

Loved this film; we watched many old black and white movies on TV growing up; no other choices before VHS/Beta. This was the movie that made everyone fall in love with Humphrey Bogart; for me, I also started reading the ‘pulp’ fiction from that dashing writer.
