I know there’s a remake with Kate Winslet, but I didn’t know what all the fuss was about and my goodness, this is wild. Mildred marries a man who scoffs at how she raises their daughters to have everything. Dad might be right when Veda grows up to be incredibly spoiled, although Kay doesn’t last long enough to share in the spoils.

Mildred is determined to make it without her cheating husband and with the approval of her daughter in tow so though Veda doesn’t know Mom’s a waitress, she changes her tune when Mildred gets a restaurant business booming.
