One of my endeavors this coming year is to attempt to read one Shakespeare play per month until I have read them all (in a few years more). Henry V has not been read by me as yet and this version is…quite something. The colors are jarring, as was custom for the time. Shakespeare is often hard to follow in text, but easier in context; it’s meant to be seen.
Initially, they film a play, but somewhere along the way, the play becomes reality. Laurence Olivier turned movie from play and he may have been a pioneer in this way.
