I’m a British Person

Great Expectations
1947 Nominee

100 Words
The South Park episode adaptation is surprisingly accurate (not at all, I’m sure). Featuring Malcolm McDowell (super creep, stay tuned for 1971) explaining that he is a British person, this tale follows our hero Pip from rags to riches.
Granted the funds to become a proper gentleman, he hopes to woo the sadistic Estella who operates under the watchful eye of the eccentric Miss Havisham. Pip goes into business with Mr. Pocket and does his best to navigate jealousy as Estella catches the glances of several gentlemen. It seems that a boyhood encounter in a churchyard follows Pip into adulthood.

I will argue til I’m blue, that Charles Dickens was the greatest Western Writer ever; but not because of this book.
