Sanity Claus

Miracle on 34th Street
1947 Nominee

100 Words
A man whose real name appears to be Kris Kringle begins spreading joy into every corner of the holiday season, and to a psychologist, the whole thing is suspect. Meanwhile, a single mama and her daughter, Susie (that’s a miniature Natalie Wood) are affected by this mysterious stranger, whose role in their own lives orchestrates a world of delight and urges the serious little Susie to start having more fun. Kris winds up briefly in a psychiatric ward and ends up on trial, defending his position as the real Santa Claus while the psychologist and others insist he is delusional.

Delightful, wonderful wonderful idea for a story. It was SO GOOD, and so was Wood.
