Happy, Dazed

Decision before Dawn
1951 Nominee

100 Words
Doesn’t the main actor look like Draco Malfoy? It’s distracting, especially when he stares into the abyss, which is approximately every 15 minutes. He’s a Happy man, a tortured German in World War II and he agrees to turn traitor to help the Americans collect intel. Whether or not it’s worth it once he returns to his hometown and surrounds himself with other, equally suspicious locals, is another story. Meanwhile, the Americans calculate whether it’s worth it to have the enemy in their midst. Can he be trusted? Is that him, staring into the abyss again? Yes. He’s so Happy.

Sounds like they didn’t know what they wanted this movie to be about. There were so many wonderful movies about WWII made in this era; since I never even heard about this one, it must have been forgettable.
