Heart Opener

The Rose Tattoo
1955 Nominee

A widow of a baron who hauled bananas hears some disturbing information about his side hustle (another woman). Bereft by the news, she can’t be bothered to take care of her appearance, causing shame upon her daughter who is in the middle of her own budding romance. A clown with the body of her late husband walks into Serafina’s life and captures her attention by chasing a goat. We all know what that’s like; am I right, ladies?

Serafina becomes disillusioned by this weird stranger when he returns with a rose tattoo on his chest just like her late husband’s.

So which will be your selection for the least offensive thorn among these thorns? I took a look as some of the other ‘esteemed’ movies from this year. Here are some that are excellent: ‘Oklahoma’, ‘To Catch a Thief’, ‘Blackboard Jungle’, ‘Guys and Dolls’, ‘The Court-Martial of Billy Mitchell’, ‘EAST OF EDEN’ and, are you kidding me? ‘REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE’! HOW did these escape the list?
