Quaking in My Boots

Friendly Persuasion
1956 Nominee

100 Words
A dollop of Quakers are makers of peace, but the war threatens to threaten their simple life on a farm. There’s a goose that causes a bit of trouble and a soldier that might carry off the Birdwells’ daughter’s heart if she can start to let him love her a little. Also, Norman Bates is in this movie and was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of a young man at conflict with his religious leanings and his leanings toward defending his home. He goes a little mad. There aren’t any stuffed birds, just that goose I mentioned.

So did it ‘pleasure you in a 100 ways’ as promised on the poster? (Still triggered by the less-than-professional advertising.)
