By God, it’s God

The Ten Commandments
1956 Nominee

100 Words
Although it’s the title of the film, the events belied by the title happen in the last 10 minutes of this nearly endless religious journey, where a miraculous amount of white people are passed off as Egyptians. Complete with the strange, straight-across bangs look yanked from the 1934 Cleopatra, it’s distracting to see even the prowess of talented actors trying to convince all of us that they hail from the land of the pyramids.

This isn’t a new issue for the films of the 1950s, but I certainly am tired of it already. Surely, this can’t permeate the 60s too…?
