It’s uncanny that Fanny just so happened to marry right after she carried on with the bartender’s son Marius who’s gone to sea (dear me, she’s eighteen). It might be best that she request that no one looks too closely at the birth date of their baby boy. Oh boy, now it really is Panisse & Son. What fun! He’s the only one who can carry on the mighty (ish) legacy.

Chevalier and Boyer (oh boy, it’s Boyer) seem content to play against a melodramatic, romantic (ish) backdrop and frankly, the two of them are more fun to watch anyway.
