Sailor’s Warning Too: Don’t Say I Didn’t Warn You, Sailor

Mutiny on the Bounty
1962 Nominee

100 Words
Marlon Brando is here (with a shirt), in a remade masterpiece that isn’t so much mastery as it is pieces of it. Captain Bligh is the human epitome of a deep sigh, walking like he’s got something lodged…between…his thighs.

It’s another disgruntled crew with nothing to do when they’re in Tahiti except worry about their leader, who is worried about breadfruit. No man is an island, but these men love the island so much that they commit mutiny when their captain refuses to indulge them…with one hour left in the movie.

Sometimes it’s best not to tamper with the Best.

Brando himself mutinied part of his life for this beauty and Tahiti. There’s power there.
