The Lion in Winter
1968 Nominee
100 Words
The more movies I watch about English history, the more I marvel at the survival of the human race. These people have eloquent accents and manage to say and do the dumbest things.
They argue about all their stuff. They argue about their sons. They argue about their marriage and their outside-of-marriage trysts (that part is the only part that makes any damn sense).
Anthony Hopkins, a kiddo practically, leads the charge of three otherwise unremarkable sons. Katharine Hepburn somehow won an Oscar with no discernible change to her accent and once again, Peter O’Toole came up empty.
What lion?
