Bound for Glory
1976 Best Picture Nominee
100 Words
It’s a biopic again, complete with (some) music, but there isn’t really enough for me. During The Great Depression (WHAT WAS SO GREAT ABOUT IT), a man navigates his fledgling musical prowess while also painting signs and cheating on his wife with a rich lady. Randy Quaid is there, commenting on how California picking isn’t all that much better than picking in the rest of the United States.
As Woody turns his music into a form of social justice, he begins to neglect important relationships in his life. It turns out that fighting for the common man hits higher notes.
